Car Stuff
by adustyframe ~ December 3rd, 2009Remember all the fun car stuff I had to deal with while Lee was in prison?
I’m incredibly grateful for the cars that were provided for us and for those who helped me keep them running, but man! They’ve been cantankerous!
At this time, Lee and I do not own one car that runs. We feel that they are past paying to repair and so we’re trying to decide what to do.
I’ve been praying for awhile that God would help us find a car for Lee. He’s been driving his brother’s truck–which is a blessing. However, the truck is sucking gas like you wouldn’t believe!
We looked at a little car last weekend for Lee that is old and cheap. It wouldn’t use gas so quickly either.
On Monday, my car wouldn’t start. Then it started and ran on Tuesday. Yesterday it started pouring oil out of the bottom. Yikes!
Lee said he’s DONE with that car and I don’t blame him.
So, we’re going to see if we can get the little cheap car for me to drive and he’ll drive the gas guzzler for now.
I’d almost think about living without a car, but that’s difficult when we don’t live in the same home. If Lee were home, we’d find some way to make one car work for us, but I really don’t see it as possible.
Please pray that God will show us which car to get and that it could be a car that won’t give us grief.
I was thinking that God dropped a furnace in my lap when I least expected it and he can provide us a car too.

I feel for your predicament. I’ve never been in your situation, but I’ve had a lot of car trouble the time I was living in SC. Daily news paper routes are VERY hard on cars. I was able to calculate yesterday how much longer before paying off my current car. I will have it paid off by 8/10 if not sooner! I just have to find the money to get the minor reapairs done in the mean time. I wish I could put them off until pay off day, but I don’t think that will happen. I know God will provide. What a comfort in knowing that!

and i have a used good car…that i need to sell…too bad we aren’t even in the same country…..

Our van is in very bad shape right now and we do not have the money to fix it. I pray everyday that it will keep running and God will keep us safe when we drive. Hope you find a good, dependable car!
