Haiti has been in our hearts and prayers for the past several days.

I am a little behind in getting this post up, but I wanted to make sure I included something.

When I was a teenager, we had a missionary at our church several times who worked with other missionaries in Haiti. He helped them build pumps for clean water and of course ministered to their souls as well.

Then another friend of mine was a missionary in Haiti for several years.

Haiti has been in my mind for years because of these people in my life. Haiti’s situation before this tragedy was sad. Now, I can’t begin to imagine.

I’ve read many warnings to give only to reputable charities and I think that’s good advice to heed.

I’m comfortable with giving to Compassion for several reasons.

I appreciate that they work through local churches. They’re already on the ground and they know the people they are helping.

I appreciate that they minister in Jesus name.

I also appreciate that they are rated highly by organizations that watch charities.

If you would like to give to help Compassion use this link. Haiti Earthquake.
