The Good News and the Bad News
by adustyframe ~ February 2nd, 2010I’ve been without a car for a couple of months. I just do the best I can and hitch rides.
Lee’s brother let us drive his old (old old old! truck and that helps. I can at least get to a couple places I need to go.
The truck isn’t road worthy right now. Lee has to fix a few things. It’s been so cold that he hasn’t been able to fix it.
We finally took in my car–it had been leaking oil like crazy. I called today to see if it was ready.
The good news? It won’t cost us a cent to fix it.
The bad news? That’s because it’s not worth fixing! ARRGGH!!!
The man said it’s shot. We didn’t drive it after it started leaking oil, so apparently it was just about dead.
So, we have one car between us and we live in 2 different cities.
Right away, I said, “Ok Lord, please help us.”
The verse that came to mind was “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.”
Then Lee called me from his brother’s.
I said, “What are you doing off work so early?” He said they cut everyone’s overtime.
With his overtime, we were just squeaking by. So today no car and no overtime.
Oh, Lord! Help me trust that you have a plan!

Which is cheaper? New Engine or new [used] car? I drove a $500 used car for many thousand miles two years ago. I’m praying–God does have plans to PROSPER you. Maybe someone has a car they think isn’t worth the hassle of selling, but you might get some more use out of it?

As I was reading this, I keep hearing:
blessings to you!
Phillippians 4:19
“Moreover, my God will fill every need of yours according to his glorious wealth, in union with the Messiah Yeshua.” repeat over and over!
Praying with you as God will fill every need you have not only right now, but as long as you have needs!

The version I learned, Dusty, said “more than we can ask or IMAGINE”. Praying that God will surprise you with the answer to this problem. In a good way…

I wish we lived close enough, too, to loan you one for a while. Praying for God’s good and perfect and timely answer.

Thanks for the verse. My husband showed up at the house about 9am yesterday because he was let go. We can pray for each other.
