Lay Off Day #1

by adustyframe ~ February 24th, 2010

Lee went to the job center today to see what he could apply for. He said it’s pretty slim pickin’s out there. His record makes finding a job difficult and while we know it’s his own fault, it sure makes job hunting very discouraging.

He’s in a good mood though. For now it feels like a few days off work.

I haven’t been trusting as I should. I spent today with a migraine. I think it’s a combination of things. I regularly suffer from headaches so I can’t blame it on my lack of trust but perhaps it came from that.

I accomplished nothing today and spent most of the day sleeping.

I spoke with Lee tonight and he said, “Maybe I do have some issues with this layoff.” He found himself at Walmart purchasing chocolate milk, a chocolate candy bar, and M & M’s.

He’s not a sweet eater so we both got a good laugh out of that. I told him that as long as he’s doing the emotional eating and I’m not it’s all good!

Thank you so much for your encouragement and prayers.

Lizzie

We will continue to pray for you at this hard time. I did get a chuckle about Lee’s choice of food. That sounds like what I would do.

  2. Stephanie Bateman

Will be praying for you and Lee 🙂 Hugs!!

  3. Barbara H.

    I like chocolate therapy. 🙂

I’m so glad he’s taking it well.

I have to admit I’ve thought, “Can’t these folks get a decent break?” But God knows what He is doing and has promised to provide.

  4. Jacque

(((HUGS))) and prayers. He will provide for your needs, as always.

Hey, Lizzie. I’ve been following your story for awhile now– you are an inspiring woman. I have frequent migraines myself, so I thought I’d pass along a home remedy, in case you haven’t tried it. Put an ice pack on your forehead or the back of your neck or both (depending where the pain is strongest) and put a hot pack on your feet. This will draw the blood away from your brain (which is part of what causes migraines). The ice will also help with muscle tension, which might be making the migraine worse.

I hope Lee can find a job soon!

Thank you for the tip. I will have to try it next time!
