Lee is still looking and applying for jobs. The business idea he had was nixed by his parole officer so he’s feeling discouraged. It really was a good idea, but for now, we have to do what she wants.

He’s applying at multiple places and hasn’t been called. Feels like last summer!

I’m feeling so busy. When Lee is working, I get to relax a bit about listing things and making money and now I’m feeling like I have to work harder at that but the juggling the time and doing it all isn’t working so great.

I went to bed at 10:30 last night! My back and neck have been hurting quite a bit for a week or so. I went to the chiropractor Monday and am going again today. I still struggle with days where I’m in pain because they feel like such a waste.

I just got called for my first jury duty ever! That will help with the not having enough time to get everything done–plus a week off school for James right when we need to be finishing up! I’m so excited! (being sarcastic here…)

Although, I AM thankful that I will be on the jury side–not the defendant side!

Other than that, I’m looking forward to visits from my family soon. They’re trickling in to meet my new little nephew so we’re going to have lots of company this summer! Yeah! (no sarcasm!)

The weather is warming up and that makes us very excited. Winter last so long around here that any hint that it may be leaving us makes us very happy!

What’s happening with you?

If you get sent into a criminal court they will most likely bounce you from the jury because of your experience with Lee and him still being on parole. I’d it’s a civil case, they may keep you. Good luck!

You may be able to get excused since you homeschool and you are basically a single parent right now.

I have been excused from jury duty twice. I wrote on the return paper that I homeschool my children and they would be without a teacher. I didn’t get a call back.

Amazing how the parole officer can just control your life like that.

Praying for a job for Lee.

I’ll have to see if that works.

Yes, she can control our life even more than she does. Thank goodness she doesn’t!

I agree with Senk above — you may be able to get out of jury duty on those grounds. Worth checking into.

How old is your mattress? I used to get up with terrible backaches until we were able to get another mattress — ours had “settled” into certain hills and valleys even though it still looked ok. Turning it over helps a bit.

I will have to check about that. But I don’t want them to defer it until summer when my family is all visiting. That would really stink!

Our mattress is a nice one my dad bought us the 1st year we were married so it’s still pretty good. I have a bad neck and upper back injury and sometimes it flares up and there’s not much I can do about it.

I also was called up for jury duty when I was homeschooling my children. I said something like I had sole responsibility for the education/care of my children. I lived in NJ at the time. I never did get called back.
