The project
by adustyframe ~ April 13th, 2010The project I asked you to guess about whas 1/2 of this.

Isn’t it cute? If I make these to give away I have to figure out a better way to sew the fabric lining onto the knit pieces. It’s not quite right.
The yarn is from a sweater I bought at the thrift store for $1 and the handles are off an old ugly purse that I found at the thrift store–probably for $1 too.
I did buy the lining fabric and ribbon new, but they were only a few dollars.
I started to use this pattern but it was way too small for the big old granny purse needs that I have. So, I made the pieces bigger and sewed it together differently.

That is just TOO cute Lizzie!!
Will you explain when you figure out the best way to sew the lining in? I would be very interested!

That is darling !!!!!
Just curious do you think there is a way
to make one from a re-cycled sweater-
maybe the hood of one ????
Thanks:) I don’t know about the hood. I imagine you could if you tried.

Very cute. I think sewing fabric to yarn is always a challenge.

I love it! The polka dot ribbon is the perfect touch! I don’t know how to knit, so I have just made them from felted wool sweaters. Here’s one I made recently that yours reminded me of:
