Uncovering Exciting History~Review
by adustyframe ~ May 10th, 2010
I received the opportunity to review this book through Mamma Buzz. Since it’s a resource we could use for school, I jumped at the chance.
This book is available as a paperback or an ebook. You can see sample pages and the pages of contents at her site.
Uncovering Exciting History Revealing America’s Christian Heritage in Short, Easy-to-Read Nuggets by Amy Puetz 184 Pages
I received the e book to review. If I were ordering it I would probably take advantage of the paperback option. I do like ebooks and have written a couple and purchased a few. I just prefer to sit down with a book.
This ebook is well organized and I was able to find the chapters I wanted to read easily.
I may have missed it but I didn’t see a suggestion for a grade level. I believe it’s probably for older elementary students. I think that James will enjoy reading some of the stories–especially the war stories.
This book contains 25 stories and 4 bonus chapters. I enjoyed the chapter on mothers who changed the world through their children. The stories are interesting and well written and I’m sure you and your children will enjoy the stories too.
Author’s Bio:
Amy Puetz (pronounced Pitts) is a homeschool graduate, a self-taught historian, and a servant of Jesus Christ. History has been a passion for her since childhood. Years of in-depth study (both in modern and old sources) have equipped her to write history-related books. Amy Puetz is the author of Uncover Exciting History: Revealing America’s Christian Heritage in Short, Easy-to-Read Nuggets and Countdown to Christmas: Memory Making Stories and Activities for Every Day from December 1st to the 25th. As a columnist for Home School Enrichment Magazine she shares stories about historical events from a Christian worldview. She especially loves to dig for little-known stories that show God’s providential hand. Because of a chronic illness (fibromyalgia) that limits what she can do, the Lord led her to start an online business which she can do from home. She is the author of several e-books. In her spare time she enjoys sewing and reading. Visit her Web site at www.AmyPuetz.com to see many resources relating to history. She also publishes a bimonthly e-zine for ladies of all ages, called Heroines of the Past.
