Trucking

Lee and trucking school are getting along very well! Every night on the phone, he updates me about what he learned.

Today they were backing the truck. They drive several hours every afternoon.

He’s so excited and happy and I’m so thankful.

He told me that on one of the first driving days, he saw a guy that looked familiar and saw the guy looking at him too. Later Lee recognized the man as a chaplain from a county jail.

Lee talked to him for awhile and the chaplain remembered him. He said he didn’t recognize Lee in street clothes.

The chaplain quit the job at the jail because he couldn’t stand the politics and behind the scenes stuff.

He said that he felt that as a chaplain he was there to spiritually help and advocate for the inmates, but the powers that be thwarted him at every turn. We know this is true because our pastor had a lot of difficulty getting approved to visit Lee at that facility.

Perhaps spiritual needs aren’t considered important there? I don’ t know.

I just think it’s unfortunate that people who truly desire to help inmates better themselves face such difficulties.

So, he quit that job and now he’s truckin’ with Lee!

It is exciting to hear of Lee’s happiness. Also the fellow who is in training with him. I trust they can encourage each other.

My guess would be that Satan doesn’t want what pastors and chaplains bring to the inmates in there. We need to cover those people with prayer. They need all the help and backup they can get 🙂

I’ve got a lot to catch up on… I’ve only just got my computer back after 8 weeks!!
