Works for Me~Basement Appliances Tip

by adustyframe ~ June 2nd, 2010

My brother and sister in law bought their first house right before Christmas last year. When we went down to meet the baby in January, my brother showed us all around.

The former owners wrote in permanent marker on the furnace and hot water heater. They just wrote a quick note when the appliance was installed.

I thought that was so brilliant, I came home and wrote on our furnace and hot water heater too.

No more trying to remember!

It is a good idea…..I also have marked our
sump pump and water heater…..I also change
the furnace filter on the 1st day of every month
the same day the dog gets her heart worm pill…
    God Bless, Pam

My husband does this. Also, when he changes the water filters. He saves the one that was most recently removed and writes the date that it was removed (and the new one was put in it’s place).

    Excellent ideas!

Great idea! When we bought our house 5 years ago, the previous owners brought a hefty 3″ binder to our closing appointment. They had saved all of the owners manuals for the all of the appliances and marked each booklet with the purchase date. Some even included the receipts! I thought this was so very thoughtful and showed how much they cared about their home. I appreciated it so very much!
