Garden Projects
by adustyframe ~ June 3rd, 2010Here are a few photos of my garden projects. I have a few more but I don’t have time to edit them right now!
What do you think?

When I was at the garden center, they had a cute pot with these flowers. They wanted more than $30, so I just walked around the greenhouse until I found each flower. I love the way it looks. I usually pot geraniums for the steps but I really like this.
I found this awesome idea of stamping on old spoons to use for plant markers. Isn’t this “Joy” so sweet in my frilly flower pot?
I found some old spoons for .10 each at the thrift store. Then I borrowed my brother in law’s stamps for marking machine parts. WELL, I didn’t realize it has to be old SILVER spoons. The stainless steel spoons were really frustrating! I have to keep my eyes open for old silver spoons now. This “joy” spoon was a piece of cake compared to the other ones.

We have an old sad metal fence. I wanted to spruce up the gate a bit and couldn’t figure out how. I looked online and didn’t see any good ideas. I walked around the house and saw this wire metal basket on my scrapbook desk. I used zip ties to hang in on the fence and some of my scrapbook ribbon to weave through the basket.
I couldn’t get away from having at least one geranium this year! I think it’s super cute in this arrangement.

I saw this shelf idea on Etsy months ago. I asked Lee to make it but he never did, so last weekend I begged a little (a LOT!) and he finished it. The wood and hooks are from our home’s old 1920’s closets–that’s all the closets were! Then we bought 2 cheap hose clamps and I emptied some of my Mason jars and hung up my garden hat.
I have another little pretty to add but it’s not done yet. He hung this on our entry porch.
I also have another really fun project I’m working on outside, but no photos yet.
The best part is that I’ve spent very little and I love all the pretty changes.

I’ll bet your flower pot turned out much more charming than the $30 one at the nursery with your personal touch!
I love that repurposing household items into country decor is “in”! Some very cute, very cheap ideas here!

[...] Another metal stamping idea. On a side note, I was so excited to find 12 silver plate spoons while I was thrifting this week. I have to borrow my brother in law’s metal stamps again and make some more plant markers! [...]
