What We’re Reading
by adustyframe ~ June 23rd, 2010Please forgive me for not adding images to this post! I’m feeling a bit lazy this morning. I’ll put in Amazon links for you though.
I’m reading Spoken from the Heart by Laura Bush. It’s a very pleasant interesting book–I got it free with my Swagbucks!
Grace Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel. It’s really good! I’ve heard a lot about it, but I recently ordered it–also free with my Swagbucks. I’ve been reading it like crazy and underlining and contemplating so many of the principles.
The Ghost in Little House A Life of Rose Wilder Lane I have to admit that I don’t care very much about Rose’s life. (I know insert shocked gasps. ) I just figured if I’m a Little House fan it would be good to know more about her. It’s pretty slow reading in my opinion.
Emma by Jane Austen. It’s the last book by Jane Austen that I need to read.
I just checked out this book from the library, but havent’ started it yet. It’s from the Yada Yada Prayer Group series. Harry Bentley’s Second Chance
James is reading the Tale of Despereaux because I found it for .49 at Goodwill!
We’re also finishing The Jungle Book, By the Shores of Silver Lake, and Beyond the Looking Glass for school.
What are you reading?

I loved the Yada series–probably because I have family in that neighborhood in Chicago! I don’t recognize the book “Harry Bentley’s Second Chance,” though so I’ll have to check it out! I just posted my June edition of “What’s on Your Nightstand”–maybe you should add this post? It’s a the blog 5 Minutes for Books………

I’m reading:
, by Tim Kimmel
Grace Based Parenting
The Maker’s Diet, by Jordan Rubin
The Creative Family, by Amanda Blake Soule
Barnyard in Your Backyard, by Gail Damerow
For the Children’s Sake, Susan Shaeffer Macaulay
With the kids:
John Audubon, Boy Naturalist, by Miriam E. Mason
Audubon: Painter of Birds in the Wild Frontier, by Jennifer Armstrong
Snipp, Snapp, Snurr series & Flicka, Ricka, Dicka series by Maj Lindman
Just finished the third Patricia St. John book we’ve read. I highly recommend her writing (she was an international missionary nurse who wrote wonderful, exciting children’s books with a central gospel message)! James would probably like her stories.
We loved the Maj Lindman books:). I read Patricia St John when I was in school. I’ll have to remember to find them for James.

Yeah Rose’s life is nothing like what you see in the Little House books.
And I grew up reading Maj Lindman too! I have never heard of anyone else who is familiar with them! How cool.
