Christmas Decorations

by adustyframe ~ December 12th, 2010

Here are a few of the decorations around the house. I realized that I have to make a smaller print of the photo of Lee, James, and I for that ornament I finally got!

I’m into chalkboards this year. I’ve had this one for a long time, but I moved it out onto the porch entryway this year.

I tried this burlap stuff–I don’t know what it’s supposed to be but I thought it was cute. James says it looks horrible–good thing he’s not the decorator huh?

I printed a bunch of those “Keep Calm and Merry On” prints and tied them with ribbon on a fake pine garland. I think they’re cute.

I love snowmen. (Although I don’t love snow…..)

The photo with my picture which is really too small to see because if I make it any bigger it’s too big for the blog…(aren’t you glad I shared all that?)

We made the book page garland! I love it. I had a pile of vintage books that I didn’t have a use for. James and I spent a pleasant afternoon working on it listening to Christmas music and decided that we like it very much.

I’m trying this idea for the cards this year. I taped ribbon on the back side of the cupboard door and am hanging the cards with clothespins.

James has decorated some sort of gingerbread house since the Christmas he was 4. We spent Christmas with my parents and my mom bought a kit for us to work on together. James made this one yesterday.

This is my new nativity set. I was able to get it with birthday money from my mom. I also found some pieces at the thrift store. Eventually, I’ll add to it, but I’m really enjoying it this year.

Here is James’. He’s had it since he was 3.

I love snowmen also! But not the snow, unless I can stay inside all warm and cozy and watch it through the window. Snow doesn’t happen much here in AL so I don’t have to worry about it too much. Yesterday we had snow flurries though.

I just prayed that Lee would find a job this week!

Nice! Two of your ideas really got me. First, chalkboards – seriously, how great are those? I never thought they could be a part of Christmas decor, but well, they sure can! What I love the most is the book-paper garland! That looks absolutely awesome! I will have to try it! Good job!
