Tropical Traditions~Dish Liquid Review and Giveaway

dish liquid gallon

Tropical Traditions offered me a chance to review their dish liquid and of course I said yes. We do dishes by hand around here and so I was happy to try it out.

The day it arrived, I ran out of dish soap and didn’t want to spend the money on more. They sent me a gallon of dish detergent!

This detergent is unscented. I personally prefer scent, but for those who are sensitive, it’s a great product.

It’s also free of dyes,  petroleum solvents, respiratory and skin irritants.

Here’s what their site says:

Household Traditions Dish Liquid is an effective and concentrated dish soap developed by and for people with allergies, asthma and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.* Household Traditions Dish Liquid is a coconut-based product—it contains nature’s versatile, renewable harvest. With coconut’s natural moisturizing qualities, washing dishes is even soothing to your hands. Household Traditions Dish Liquid is safe for you but tough on dirty, greasy dishes. It breaks down safely and rapidly making it safer for the environment. It is also low sudsing, making it ideal for camping or other outdoor uses. Household Traditions Dish Liquid is free of fragrances, phosphates, petroleum solvents, chlorine, dyes and other common triggers for respiratory or skin irritations.

Directions for use: Add Household Dishwashing Liquid while filling the sink with hot water. For tougher jobs, like dried on foods, let dishes soak a few minutes before washing.

Ingredients: Deionized water, coconut and sugar-based cleansing and sudsing agents, plant-based surfactants, emulsifiers.

This dish liquid is low sudsing which I had to get used to. I’m sure the suds are created by nasty chemicals anyway!

I have definitely noticed that my hands are not as dry as they are when I use regular dish detergent–and I’ve been using 7th Generation natural detergent!

Tropical Traditions is giving away one of these dish detergents to one of my readers too! All you have to do to enter is

1. Subscribe to their newsletter and leave me a comment telling me that you did–or tell me that you already subscribe.

For bonus entries:

1. Tweet about this giveaway and leave a comment telling me you did. 1 tweet per day.

2. Leave a comment telling me what dish detergent you usually use and why you’d like to try this one.

Giveaway ends Friday Jan. 21 at midnight Pacific.

Disclaimer: Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose.  Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review or sponsor a product giveaway in return for the free product.

    2nd entry!
I currently am using Dawn although I have used 7th Generation and Mrs. Meyers in the past. I need to get back to natural!! If I win the giveaway, I will share with my daughter who uses 7th Generation — she is vegan so the Tropical Traditions sounds perfect for her!

I found your site through Rachel’s FB. I’d love to enter this giveaway. We currently use Joy (or whatever’s cheapest at the time), but I’ve been making our own laundry detergent for several years now, so I’d love to try some natural dish detergent too! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

Bonus entry, lol: I usually use Dawn Classic, the “old fashioned” blue kind. I’d like to try this because I haven’t really gotten into using more natural cleaning products (except a few disappointing attempts at using vinegar to clean the bathroom, etc.), and I would like to. Also, we live on a well/septic now for the first time, and I feel like we should use more natural things because of that, too.

To tell you the truth I use whatever I can get the cheapest! But, my daughter has ezecma and as she is starting to do more cleaning around the house I know I will have to find more natural things to clean with.

  15. Kris

I already subscribe to Tropical Traditions.

Right now I’m using Dawn, but when I buy detergent I just buy whatever is the cheapest. I’d like to try this because I’m guessing it will be gentler on our skin. I’ve gone to mostly natural cleaning products, but haven’t switched to a natural dish detergent yet.

I usually use Dawn but I have very sensitive skin and my hands crack from doing dishes. So I’d like to try this because it seems that it wouldn’t be as harsh on my skin!

I would love to try the soap since I hate doing dishes because of how my hands hurt afterward.
