Sleeping

by adustyframe ~ April 7th, 2011

When Lee was “away”, I didn’t sleep well. I spoke with a widow at church and she said she still doesn’t sleep well.

I don’t know why–you’d think I’d have learned how to sleep alone after all those years. I started staying up late just so I didn’t have to think about Lee being gone. That may sound silly, but if I was awake I didn’t have to think about his absence in the bed.

When he was home for the weekends, I discovered a couple things.

1. I don’t need as many blankets when he’s home! I’m not as cold. This is a nice thing 🙂

2. HE SNORES! Oh my word! I can’t sleep with him IN the bed either.

What a lot of adjusting we have to do. I didn’t really think sleeping would be one.

Of course I AM happy to have him in the bed snoring and keeping me awake. I’ve also started going to bed much earlier than my old bad habits. I’ve also started a new habit–taking melatonin now and then so I can sleep!

Ear plugs can be a lifesaver. 🙂 What a happy problem!

  2. Lisa

I honestly think I’ve quit “looking” because NO ONE could sleep thru my snoring. Even the cats get up and leave in disgust!! I can so sympathize.

  3. Janet

I understand the not sleeping well. It seems I sleep the best during the day when someone else can guard the house.

melatonin is a God-send in our home – both my girls and i take it … and my husband sometimes.

apparently, i snore. but i’ve not heard it, so i have no proof 😉

Oh, yes, the snoring is a tough one, but I have found ear plugs to be a HUGE help, too! I have to say, though, I’m glad you have that problem! So happy that he is home !

In Ecclesiastes 4:11 it says ” Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?’ So two in a bed are warmer than one.
Both my husband and I snore sometimes. We just nudge each other and say please roll over. That usually stops the snoreing. We also use melatonin.
I’m very happy you have that problem because it means Lee is home. Also a day or so ago I laughed about the shoes under the end table. That also made me happy for you because your altogether again.
