Tellin’ The Truth~Wednesday~

by adustyframe ~ May 11th, 2011

A little late this week….

Nothing much going on in the diet realm. Still plugging away and doing my TTapp. I did a boot camp for awesome legs and the backside! I had to do it everyday for 10 days and man was it a killer on the old thighs! I’m taking a week break from that then I’ll do it a few times and take another break….

I’m reading Start Somewhere by Calvin Nowell. I can’t remember where I heard about this book, but I didn’t know it was a Christian book! It’s very good. He lost more than 200 lbs and his premise is that when you have that much to lose you can’t go nuts all at once but you should start somewhere.

I’m enjoying his story and advice.

I’m getting to bed much earlier now that Lee is home. I do lay in bed with the reading light and read for quite awhile, but I figure I’m resting right?

What about you? Any health goals or progress to share?

A health goal for me is to get my blood sugar numbers in normal range. I started on insulin about two weeks ago plus some pills also. It definitely took the sugar down. It has dropped to low so doctor is adjusting the pills. It drops during the early morning around 1:30 – 5:30. He adjusted again yesterday and I got through till morning today without a drop to low. I counting carbs agin.

Sally, I don’t know if this would work for you but I bought the
Glycimic Index For Dummies book eating only low glycimic index
foods…… and started walking 18 minutes in the morning and 30 at night. On May 22 it will be one year……I have lost 35 pounds and my blood sugar is in the acceptable range…..just a suggestion.

I am seriously slacking now. My weight loss has stopped and I have gained a couple of pounds…but then I wonder if that is where my body is happy? Back to walking to and fro form scholl almost daily now so that should help on the exercise front. Am very vaguely toying with the idea of taking up running and have found a beginners website…although I do not like running! But at least once I have paid for proper shoes it will be free exercise and means I get out a bit more. Hmmmmmmm. we’ll see!!

Thank you Pam from South Bend. I will check that book out. Maybe I can get it on Amazon or E Bay. I do need to try walking again. I have been counting carbs and that usually helps me to drop a few pounds.
