Figuring Things Out

by adustyframe ~ May 19th, 2011

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had some reminders that we have not lived together for a long time!

I found a grill for Lee that I wanted to get for Father’s Day. I distinctly said to James, “Dad doesn’t care what type of grill.” So, we decided on a gas grill.

Lee adamantly let me know that he only prefers charcoal.

Then, he picked out something for me for Mother’s Day that was black. It’s not a big deal–it’s just that he had no idea that I despise the color black. (Yes, I know I was going to put black in the bedroom before but that was only because I thought it would look more masculine and there was going to be a LOT of red!)

Anyway, on Sunday, I said something to him about my allergies and he said, “I never knew you had allergies.”

I’ve had horrible spring allergies for the past 3 years. But he wouldn’t really know that would he?

None of this is a “big deal”. It’s nothing that anyone was upset over. It’s just so many little ways to remind us that even though we’ve been married for (almost) 13 years, we have been apart and have a lot of catching up to do.

A lot!

and you have a lot of time to do that 🙂

Almost like an arranged marriage–you know it will work, but you’ve got a lot to get acquainted with–in your case–“again”…..
