I’m Reading…

by adustyframe ~ May 21st, 2012

I’m always reading something! I thought I’d share some of my recent reads with you and hopefully you’ll tell me what you’re reading?

The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks

This book was REALLY good! I am still thinking about it and talking about it. Quite a few of my friends are reading it too. Usually, when I read non-fiction, I read other books at the same time so I can take a break but this was as easy to read as a novel. Don’t let the science scare you away–it’s a good read.

I also just finished book 4 and 5 in the Green series by Judy Christie. The first book in the series was free on Kindle around Christmas time and I snagged it. I finally read it and enjoyed it. Then I borrowed book #2 from the library and ended up getting the rest of the series free for the Kindle.

This series is an enjoyable light read but it’s not all fluff. One of my favorite parts is the news items from the local Green newspaper at the beginning of each chapter–cracks me up!

One character is a woman pastor and while I don’t believe that is Biblical, I still enjoyed the series. The books are based on a woman who owns the newspaper in a small Louisiana community.

I just started a book for a review that I’m excited about! It’s from a series I really enjoy so I’m interested to see how the story unfolds! You’ll have to wait to hear about that one until later.

I’m also reading other books for Bible study and self-help as always but I don’t feel like listing them right now–haha!

So, what are you reading?

3 Thoughts Shared to I’m Reading…

  1. Sally Martin

I just finish reading” Living Proof ” an excellent read about Lt. Clebe McClary. He is a Vietnam vet who came to know the Lord. True story. Just started ” 20 Most Asked Questions about the Amish and Mennonites ” interesting and informative. I have on hand, but haven’t started to read yet ” Why I Left the Amish “

  2. Barbara H.

I keep hearing about that first one. It doesn’t sound like it would be interesting, but everyone says it is.

  3. Robin in New Jersey

Thanks for the ideas. I am always looking for a “good” read.
