The Haven~Suzanne Wood Fisher~Book Review

by adustyframe ~ August 31st, 2012

I received the opportunity to review The Haven by Suzanne Woods Fisher from LitFuse Publicity.

I’ve read a few of Suzanne’s other books and I enjoyed this one. I hadn’t read the first book in the series and a couple of times, I had the feeling that I was missing a little bit of the story. However, this book does stand alone and you can enjoy the story without reading the first book.

Thankfully, I discovered that I had already downloaded the free Kindle version of the first book–The Keeper. I’ll be reading it soon!

The Haven tells the story of Sadie Lapp as she returns home to Stoney Ridge after a winter in Ohio.

When she arrives home to lots of commotion she wonders what is going on?

Her little sister tells her that people are there to watch the falcons in their field. Also there to watch the falcons is Will Stoltz an intern for the local game warden.

Sadie befriends Will but her former beau Gideon is not happy and the story walks through the tension between Will, Gideon, and Sadie.

The other tension in this story surrounds Sadie and what she brought home with her from Ohio. I won’t give it away but it causes a lot of trouble for her. Church members make unkind assumptions about her. Gideon assumes the worst about Sadie as well.

Definitely a great story from a good author.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of The Haven in order to provide a review. All opinions are my own.
