Tellin’ The Truth~Thursday…

I haven’t shared a Tellin’ The Truth post lately and today is the wrong day! Oh well.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I kept up my exercise. I was determined to have a fit pregnancy and not lose all the ground I’ve gained over the past couple of years.

I was tired, but still getting in some Walk Away The Pounds miles on a fairly regular basis.

Then, I had the spotting scare and the midwife told me no exercise (and other things) until I was cleared. By the time I was cleared I was so tired I couldn’t exercise. I was trying to drag through the day.

Then my neck was in horrible pain the entire week of Christmas and the week of New Years we had the “Crud” then James got his tonsils out. PHEW!!!!!

I am starting to feel like I could get in some exercise so hopefully as soon as our house settles down, I can get back into my routine.

I’ve gained weight–I’ve gained weight quickly. I gained 9 lbs before I even knew I was pregnant. I was strictly following my eating plan, exercising, taking some supplements that had helped me maintain my recent loss perfectly for 6 weeks. Then BAM–9 lbs. I was so upset!

When I figured out that I was pregnant, I realized why that weight found me but then I began to worry that I was going to gain every last pound back that I’ve lost.

I’ve been working on shifting my eating focus only to health and not worry about the gain because it doesn’t seem to matter what I do–the gains are finding me! The midwife told me that the women she’s worked with who’ve lost a lot of weight do seem to gain it quickly when pregnant. I know it doesn’t have to be that way, but I guess my body likes being fat!

Gaining weight in exchange for a baby is a wonderful trade off–I’m just praying it won’t be TOO bad….

    Lizzie,
    I for one will be praying for you and have been. It is true you are eating for two. I believe your idea to eat healthy is part of the key to not gaining it all back. Also I believe that it will make it easier to take it off after that previous little soul makes its appearance here on earth. Love you and I am praying for you. I hope all who read your blog will pray for you now and after baby arrives.

    Praying right along with you! Just keep eating healthy, enjoy being pregnant and if you nurse after, the weight may come off quicker.

    You are beautiful no matter what. I agree a baby is the better trade off. You can always lose the weight later. You have done it once already.

    I do Weight Watchers and it has helped me get the weight off and keep it oiff. Best wishes for a happy healthy pregnancy.
