Reviewing

by adustyframe ~ February 12th, 2013

On the TOS Crew review forum, someone asked what products have you reviewed that you still use.

I thought I’d post that here but I’ll also include non-TOS reviews.

ALEKS Math–We paid for a subscription and James used it for the rest of the year.

Hewitt Homeschooling Chronicles of State History–James is still working on it. I love that it’s almost all independent projects for him to do. He looks up the information on the internet most of the time and often fills me in on things he has learned.

King Alfred’s English–I REALLY enjoyed reading this book and I’m saving it for James to read–probably next year.

God’s Great Covenant–we’re continuing this where we left off after the review. We’re using it as our main Bible curriculum.

Beeyoutiful Products–I LOVE the orange lip balm.

Schoolhouse Teachers.com I check in there once in awhile when I’m looking for something. Reminds me…..I need to go take another peek.

Because of my reviews for Tropical Traditions, I still use coconut flour, coconut cream, and coconut oil.

Authors I Enjoy & Found on Reviews:

Mel Starr

Suzanne Woods Fisher

Judy Baer

Susan May Warren

Items I’ve purchased because of other bloggers reviews?

Apologia How To Have A H.E.A.R.T. For Your Child

Some miscellaneous books–although I probably found them at the library :)

What about you? Any review items you still use? Or Authors you found through your own or other’s reviews?

  1. Mama Squirrel

I still like some of the products we used during our year on the Review Crew, but my youngest outgrew them and we passed them on to others: Barchowsky Handwriting, All About Spelling. I like Nature Friend Magazine, which we reviewed but can’t afford. We continued to use Math Mammoth through last year, and are actually using for some review work right now; we still occasionally use the Math Tutor DVD we reviewed, and I continued to use the Write with the Best (from EDUDPS) with one of my girls when she was in the eighth grade.

I have been wondering about this and was going to ask on the forum; some how I missed this thread!

Thanks for sharing! It’s nice to hear what good finds came from the review crew!
