I Almost Forgot…

by adustyframe ~ August 28th, 2013

I was in the shower yesterday, and realized that August is the birthday of A Dusty Frame.

I almost forgot!

For seven years, I’ve been sharing here. I’ve “met” some wonderful people who have prayed for me, encouraged me, cried with me, and rejoiced with me. I don’t think I knew how special my readers would become to me when I posted my first post and put this blog online. I was very afraid and really unsure why I felt God was leading me to do this.

Over the years there have been those who wonder if I’m for real–I don’t blame them because I’m sure I’d wonder about me too if I was just reading a blog. I’ve had a couple unkind comments–and really only a couple. It’s part of the territory I know. I’ve had people misunderstand me or disagree with me but that’s ok too!

Seven years ago, I could have never imagined that God would work out our story so nicely–although this isn’t the end. Who knows what will happen in the future. Maybe it will be all good and maybe there will be more trials and surprises. I’ve learned though that God cares and is with us every step of the way.

Hopefully, I’ve shared that when I share posts–that God is with us and loves us deeply no matter what we’re going through. I’m so thankful for the way he carried us through the rough times. And I’m thankful that you’ve been along on my journey.

Do you remember how you found me or how long you’ve been reading?

I found you when you linked one of my recipes. I think you saw it when Barbara H. said something about it on her blog. I often find new favorites from links from other blogs I enjoy. Congratulations on your blogaversiry! I’m so thankful for the way the Lord has worked in your situation and for your precious addition to the family.

It a very long story….some would say a coincidence…….but I know it was a God thing……my husband works at a university and we were on campus on a football weekend…..a complete stranger came by and he could tell she had been crying…….she asked if she could use his office phone…..she had gotten separated from the people she came with and didn’t have her cell phone…..she reached them by phone and while she was waiting to be reunited with them she said to me “I haven’t told anyone this yet but I can tell you are a Christian and I need prayer. I am a teacher and my husband is an attorney and he is going to prison next month” I prayed with her…we have stayed in touch for over 5 years……I was looking for support for her on line and found your blog. She is a wonderful Godly woman who has weathered the same storm you have……unfortunately it did NOT bring her husband closer to the Lord……he got out a couple of months ago and is only interested in reconnecting with material things…….she remains faithful and prays for him to see the light. Your honesty inspired us both…..thanks for always sharing honestly.

Hi Lizzie, I have been reading you for 5 or 6 years. I know I found you from a mention on another blog. Back then I only read a few blogs, a couple don’t post anymore, so I am not sure which one it was. I am thankful I found you and am grateful for the encouragement you have offered in my walk through the unknown.

    Keep the faith!

I use to be an etsy team with you and that’s how I found your blog. I don’t often post comments but I do read almost every post.

I don’t remember how long it has been – some years – but I do remember I first found you when someone linked to your post about keeping your covenant in marriage.

Oh, and congratulations on your blogiversary!

You know, I had the same realization about my blog last night; August is my blog anniversary month, too. Eight years for my blog, though. 🙂 Congrats on seven years! 🙂

Seems like I found you through Money Saving Mom, but I’m not sure. Happy Blogging Anniversary!

I found you through MSM many years ago.

Not sure how I found you, but it was quite a few years ago, and I’m so glad I did! I have learned a lot from you, Lizzie. One of the things is not to make assumptions about anyone and their circumstances. Also to have compassion and to pray a lot for hurting people whose story you don’t necessarily know all of or understand.

So happy with the way God has blessed you, and may He continue to help your family thrive and grow in Him!
