Alpha Phonics~Review & Giveaway

by adustyframe ~ November 2nd, 2013

I was contacted by Alpha Phonics and asked to review their program.  I was happy to do so because I don’t have the phonics program that I used to teach James to read and I will be teaching another little guy to read in the future!

This program is available at Alpha-Phonics and is $34.95 and includes the CD-Rom version for free. It’s even available on Kindle! This resource can also be purchased at other sites like Christian Book.com, Rainbow Resource, and Amazon.

Also included in my review package was How To Tutor Phonics Workbook   ($19.99) a supplement for the phonics lessons and Little Companion Readers. ($24.95).

Watch an introductory video here to explain the program.

The book is comb bound and opens flat which is always nice! I tend to put my coffee cup on books that don’t lie flat and then spill my coffee all over the school books! Books that lie flat are always a bonus in my opinion.

I also like that the covers are reinforced with heavy plastic to add durability.

The pages are free from distractions so that the student’s mind can pay full attention to the lesson.

The back of the book has complete instructions for each lesson. You don’t have to be a reading teacher in order to use this program! Just follow the directions. Very little preparation time is needed which is always a plus in a busy homeschool house.

The How To Tutor Phonics book offers additional practice by offering fill in the blank and writing activities that reinforce the concepts in the lessons.

This program is suitable for young readers as well as students who need remedial help in reading or adults who cannot read. I like that there aren’t cartoon type photos or things that would make an older student feel that they’re using a “baby” book.

I’m looking forward to using this when baby needs to learn to read–although that’s a few years away.

Alpha-Phonics is offering a giveaway of this set to one of my readers~
