Distortion~Terri Blackstock~Book Review

From the Description:

A husband’s lies can have deadly consequences.

When Juliet Cole’s husband of fifteen years is murdered before her eyes, she thinks it was a random shooting. Devastated and traumatized, she answers hours of questioning, then returns home to break the tragic news to her boys.

But a threatening voicemail takes this from a random shooting to a planned, deliberate attack. Juliet realizes that she and her children are in danger too, unless she meets the killers’ demands. But as she and her sisters untangle the clues, her husband’s dark secrets come to light.

The more she learns, the more of her life is dismantled. Was her husband an innocent victim or a hardened criminal?

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book. I can’t remember if I’ve ever read any of Terri Blackstock’s books before but this one was good.

This is the second book in the Moonlighter series. I have not read the first book, but this book stood alone quite well.

I read it in a few days which isn’t the norm for me right now. I’d go to bed and read like crazy. I kept telling myself, “Just one more chapter the baby is going to be awake soon.” But I couldn’t stop!

When Juliet’s husband is shot she’s stunned but quickly realizes he had a completely separate life.

In the aftermath, she tries to discover who this man was, tries to protect her children, and tries to help solve the murder.

I told James about part of the plot and he said, “Oh man that would be horrible!” My thoughts exactly…every woman’s worst nightmare.

I really enjoyed this page turner and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I’ve read most of Terri’s books and really enjoy them. She does know how to keep a reader on the edge of her seat! I had not heard of this one.

I read Terri Blackstock for the first time about a week ago–the Newpointe 911 Series. I’m currently in the middle of book three, and like you, I have a hard time putting them down. Some of her situations are outlandish, but still enjoyable. I like the believability of her characters. My daughter and I are still trying to figure out who one of the main characters reminds us of. =) Happy reading!

Ok, I’ll have to look into that series. I just ordered the 1st one from this series from Amazon and it got here today!

it was so weird when i found out about my husband’s ‘other’ life that he’d lived since before we were married. i had no idea *that* was what was causing his evil behavior.

if not for my new husband continuing to affirm me, to tell me i am normal, to confirm that he was screwed up, i’d still be trying to figure out what i did to cause him to have that double life. the truth is, i didn’t do anything. he chose it. it was all him. i wasn’t a perfect wife, but i didn’t make him choose that other life.

i am so very thankful for my new husband!

🙁 but I’m thankful for you for your new husband too!
