Who Knew?

by adustyframe ~ April 8th, 2014

Who knew that asking if you were there would generate so many comments? I DID say it was a lame attempt to get comments–guess it worked.

I did change my feed to not be a snippet. I don’t remember where or when or if I did that on purpose. If you have time to let me know if you can see the whole post in a feed please do. I’m hoping the change went through.

I know that I don’t spend as much time reading blogs as I used to. I don’t spend as much time on Pinterest as I used to either. Baby is at the busy into everything stage so the online stuff gets done much less frequently than before.

I’m SO glad to know that many of you are still out there and still reading. I do know that my blog has significantly changed so I hoped I hadn’t lost everyone. I don’t think that many of you will ever realize what a wonderful blessing and encouragement you were to me through those years when life wasn’t easy. I consider many of you friends and maybe someday we can sit down for that cup of coffee (or tea) and chat.

I will keep blogging. I hadn’t put a lot of thought into quitting. I think I was just wondering if I was really only talking to a couple of people or not…..It shouldn’t matter I guess should it?

I am thankful you took a minute to say hey!

Hey back!

The full feed worked for me! 🙂

    See it all

I can see your whole feed now.

Commenting in general seems to have fallen off. If I look back at my old posts from a few years ago, quite often I’d have 5-8 comments on what I call “nothing” post – nothing significant, just some odds and ends thoughts. Now when I have posts where I pour my heart out, I might get 1 or 2 comments, if any. Some of those folks that used to comment are no longer blogging at all. Some are still blogging, but I would never know that they read me except that they will occasionally link to me. I know nobody can comment on everyone’s every post, but it does encourage to know someone’s out there reading. My blog stats in general have gone down, but I don’t know how much that might have to do with my WordPress stats not necessarily picking up all the ways in which people read (like if they read in a feed reader without clicking over.)

Sometimes the more you comment on other people’s posts, the more comments you get back. I don’t think people mean it in a tit for tat kind of way, but it just seems to work out that way.

I know as I have come to read more blogs, I comment less. If I only read five blogs I would probably comment on each post. Even with commenting less myself I struggle with spending too much time on the computer. Maybe that is what is going on at large as well.
