What I’m Reading

by adustyframe ~ June 9th, 2016

I seem to go in spurts where I’m reading a lot or I’m not reading much of anything.

Right now, I’m in the reading a lot spurt.

Here are some “non-review” books that I’ve enjoyed lately.

Same Kind of Different As Me—very good! It was on my pile for a long time but I never picked it up. The other day, I started it and couldn’t put it down. It’s just a great story.

A Fatal Fleece–I found this in one of those little libraries people have in their yard. Little guy likes to check them out and we found one when we were on a walk. We got a bug book for him and this one for me. It’s really good. Sometimes when I am reading a new author, I’m not sure what to expect. This story is entertaining light reading but it’s well written.

I checked out another book from the series at the library. Even if you’re not a knitter you may enjoy these.

A recommendation from Lisa was The Sweetgum Knit Lit Society. Another knitting book! Again, this is not a cheesy knitting story. It’s well written and I enjoyed it so much that I checked out the 2nd book from the libary to get started as soon as I finish the 2nd book from the other knitting series! Are you following this? ! (lol!)

For a little more educational reading, I’m starting Consider This about teaching with Charlotte Mason methods.

I have a few on my kindle that I started to read and have not finished.

I’m also trying to keep up with the Old Testament  readings our church is doing together daily this year. I’m failing miserably at staying on track but at least I’m reading the Old Testament again.

What good books are you reading lately?

3 Thoughts Shared to What I’m Reading

  1. Barbara H.

I loved Same Kind of Different As Me. I just finished A Man Called Ove (review coming soon) – loved it except for some bad language. Just started Gulliver’s Travels via audiobook. Have been working on Pioneer Girl by Laura Ingalls Wilder for some time but am making headway. Just started Chateau of Secrets by Melanie Dobson – haven’t read her before but she comes highly recommended.

  2. Sally Martin

I have just finished When Tree Tops Glisten recently and just started A Fatal Fleece tonight.

  3. Lisa

I will definitely read the 2nd one of Sweetgum–just not yet.
