I saw this video on the profiles of many of my Facebook friends recently, but never took time to watch.
I just watched it. And I cried. Of course I cried!
As I watched, I thought it’s a vivid picture of us. I’ve definitely been the one lying there writhing in agony but I think he pictures [...]

Last week, I realized I am reading 2 books about grace–Grace for Every Trial & Grace Based Parenting.
I wonder why I’m drawn to the subject of grace right now and feel led to do a study on it.
When I think of grace, I think of it as God’s strength to get through a trial. In [...]

Lee is the proud owner of a CDL license! He was able to get it last Friday.
I thought it would be something different, but it’s only his driver’s license, but the class says ABCD and he has endorsements–not sure what that means!
It’s so exciting!
He’s going for a welding interview this afternoon because he got a [...]

Lee and his parole officer set up a call for 2 pm. James and I once again, hurried home so we’d be here when the phone rang.
We sat around. I began to feel sick. James said he hoped Dad didn’t call so he could hear me get mad at someone on the phone. He said [...]

Last week, James thought about the things he wanted to tell his Dad when he called. All week he talked about what he’d say and he practiced a piece on the piano.
The time for the call came and the phone didn’t ring.
I felt sick. I second guessed myself for telling James he could talk to [...]

Thank you to each one of you who gave something or prayed about James’ camp fund. You are seriously amazing.
I truly hated asking, but I didn’t want him to be disappointed. If I’m disappointed or things are tough for me or Lee oh well right?! It’s hard to see the kiddos be let down though. [...]

Lisa asked in the comments and I meant to post this earlier.
What’s up with the phone call?
Well, it was a complete surprise to James and I and I later found out that it was to Lee as well.
Lee’s former parole officer–the woman–called me and apologized that we didn’t have a heads up. She thought that [...]

While my family was here, we went to church with my brother and his wife. I really enjoy going to their church and James does too. It was a special treat for us to attend two Sundays in a row.
When my other sister was here in May, I found a Ladies Sunday School class at [...]

James and I got home from my brother’s last night and unpacked a little.
Today, I visited my chiropractor! However, after my visit, I felt a little tired and my neck hurt so I went home for a snooze.
While I was sleeping the phone rang and James brought it in to me.
The caller ID said, “Department [...]

Lee passed his 3 tests to get his CDL permit. So next week, he’ll be able to drive on the road during school!
I’m so proud of him.
I’m still praying that things will change by his graduation in December so we can all 3 be there together!
