My Garden

Monday, October 21st, 2013

Last summer, Lee re-did much of our lawn. We took down the old chain link fence and put in new dirt and grass. He took down some nasty weed patches and a dead lilac (boo hoo). We also had dead trees removed from our yard. So, it was a major overhaul. We’re not quite done […]

Tupperware Trick

Friday, July 26th, 2013

I have probably not mentioned that I’ve been selling Tupperware for a couple of years. I use my real name so haven’t advertised it here. It got us through the last months of Lee’s loooooong unemployment but I haven’t done very much with it since he started driving. His schedule changes quickly and I didn’t […]

Pinterest Success

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

I saw this cute idea on Pinterest a long time ago. I couldn’t find a frame that I liked or that wasn’t a crazy price. I found this one at Target with a coupon and I love it! Lee will probably roll his eyes but that’s ok. I enjoy “prettying” up places around the house. […]

Why I Stock Up On Groceries

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012

For quite awhile, I’ve been a stock up grocery shopper. You won’t see me on preppers or any of those crazy shows. There is no bunker anywhere near us and we don’t have years of food stored up, but yes, I do stock up. I stock up for a couple reasons. 1. I don’t want […]

Why Yes It Is Tomato Central Around Here….

Thursday, September 13th, 2012

Sorry, I’ve meant to post several things but the tomatoes are holding me hostage! I finally got the bushel canned, then I was given another bucket full of tomatoes today! I do love all the pretty red jars lined up though. I’ve made spaghetti sauce, and crushed and plain tomatoes. I have to decide […]

Freezer Cooking Friday

Friday, September 7th, 2012

My freezer cooking plans have been derailed by the need to put up produce before it spoils. That is a good thing though especially because most of it was free. I am processing the pumpkins that grew up in my backyard. Pumpkins are quite a chore actually! I’m going to post about my process later. […]

I haven’t taken any recent photos my garden, but I love my geraniums. I did this same pot last year and just left the basket on the gate. This year I added euphorbia to the arrangement and I LOVE it!  I’m not sure which species of euphorbia–apparently there are many. This white wispy plant adds […]

Change of Plans

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Over the past few years, I’ve been on a mission to decorate our bedroom. Initially, I chose red and black with cream and silver for accents. I had a hard time finding red bedding that fit my ideas. WELL! If I had a few hundred bucks for a bed set, I could have found all […]

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

I saw this idea in a magazine and thought it was pretty cute! I put wheat grass seeds in some dirt and added lollipops. It’s fun! The cats love it too–actually they’ve pretty much just eaten all the grass now. I’ll have to replant it and find some more lollipops.

Christmas Decorations

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

Here are a few of the decorations around the house. I realized that I have to make a smaller print of the photo of Lee, James, and I for that ornament I finally got!   I’m into chalkboards this year. I’ve had this one for a long time, but I moved it out onto the […]
